3. TECHNICAL DETAILS

3.1 AFFECTED PRODUCTS

The following versions of NDS-5000 Terminal Server, a network server, are affected:

  • NDS-5000 Terminal Server, NDS/5008 (8 Port, RJ45), firmware Version 02D.30

3.2 VULNERABILITY OVERVIEW

3.2.1    IMPROPER NEUTRALIZATION OF INPUT DURING WEB PAGE GENERATION ('CROSS-SITE SCRIPTING') CWE-79

The affected product is vulnerable to a stored cross-site scripting error, which may allow an attacker to perform privileged operations on behalf of the user, gain access to sensitive data belonging to the user, and remotely execute arbitrary code.

CVE-2020-7006 has been assigned to this vulnerability. A CVSS v3 base score of 6.8 has been calculated; the CVSS vector string is (AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H).

Murat Aydemir, Critical Infrastructure Penetration Test Specialist at Biznet Bilisim A.S., reported this vulnerability to CISA.

4. MITIGATIONS

Systech released firmware Version 02F.6 that eliminates this vulnerability. For further information on installing this update, contact Systech Technical Support at support@systech.com.
